Agricultural Solar Alanya

Solar for estates with orchards, gardens and agricultural land. Generate energy while your land continues to produce.

Agricultural solar system

For luxury estates and villas with garden space, orchards or agricultural land in the Alanya region, agrivoltaic solar systems offer a dual benefit: clean energy generation and continued land productivity. Our elevated panel systems are designed at 3–5 metre height to allow agricultural machinery access beneath.

Agrivoltaic Design

Agrivoltaics — the combination of solar panels with agricultural activity — is one of the most sophisticated approaches in solar energy today. Research consistently shows that partial shading from elevated panels can improve yields of stress-sensitive crops such as herbs, salad leaves, berries and Mediterranean vegetables by reducing water evaporation.

Applications for Alanya Estates

  • Olive and citrus orchard solar: elevated panels above tree canopy
  • Vegetable garden: elevated shade structure doubling as solar array
  • Pool heating and garden irrigation: solar-powered throughout
  • Farm buildings and outhouses: rooftop solar powering all outbuildings

Specifications

  • Panel height: 3 m (garden tools) or 5 m (machinery clearance)
  • Row spacing: minimum 6 m for equipment access
  • VFD solar pump controllers for direct solar irrigation
  • System sizes: 10–500 kWp depending on estate scale

Agricultural Solar: Transform the Economics of Your Land

Irrigation and greenhouse heating are among the heaviest costs any grower faces. Around Alanya, estates devoted to greenhouse cultivation, orchards and cut-flower production routinely pay tens of thousands of lira each month to run irrigation pumps, heat their greenhouses and operate cold storage. An agricultural solar system removes the greater part of these costs — and, in doing so, raises the value of the land itself.

Solar-Powered Irrigation Pumps: The Technical Detail

There are two principal configurations for agricultural pump systems:

Why Solar Is Decisive in the Alanya Greenhouse Belt

The Mediterranean coast around Alanya — taking in Kumluca, Finike, Serik and Kemer — is home to some of the most intensive greenhouse cultivation in the country. Growers here face heavy energy demand on two fronts: heating and lighting through the winter, irrigation through the summer. When that year-round, two-sided demand meets the Alanya climate, where solar generation continues uninterrupted in every season, the case for an agricultural solar investment becomes compelling indeed.

Agrivoltaics: Cultivation and Generation on One Plot

An agrivoltaic system positions the panels at a calculated height above the field, so that the land both generates energy and admits enough sunlight to grow crops beneath. Research shows that shade-tolerant plants — lettuce, spinach, strawberries and certain fruit saplings — can reduce their water consumption by around thirty per cent under an agrivoltaic array. In a region prone to water scarcity, that is a serious operational advantage. We can prepare an agrivoltaic feasibility study tailored to your land and the crops you grow.

Grant Funding for Agricultural Solar

From time to time, agricultural solar investments qualify for grant funding under national and EU-backed rural development programmes (such as TKDK and IPARD). These schemes typically provide non-repayable support of between thirty and fifty per cent of the eligible investment. Because eligibility windows and conditions change, our advisers monitor the current programmes and will brief you on what is open at the time.

Answers Before You Commit

The questions we are asked most often as clients weigh a solar investment — answered plainly:

My supply is single-phase — is that a problem?

A single-phase (220V) connection is perfectly suitable for homes, and single-phase systems can be installed up to a maximum of 10 kWp. For larger systems that require a three-phase supply, we can arrange the necessary connection upgrade with the distribution utility on your behalf.

What happens if snow falls on the panels?

Snowfall is exceedingly rare along the Alanya coast. Even so, because the panel surface is gently inclined, the little that does settle slides off within a few hours. Unless the snow exceeds about 3 cm there is no meaningful loss of output — and in any case, even the winter sun here delivers enough irradiance to keep the system productive.

Can a neighbour object? Do I need permission?

For detached houses a municipal permit is generally not required (up to 10 kWp). In apartment blocks and gated communities, approval from the residents' management board is needed. If you are a tenant, the owner's written consent is essential. We provide legal and technical support throughout every one of these steps.

What happens if I sell the property?

You can either transfer the system with the property or have it dismantled and reinstalled at a new location. The net-metering agreement passes to the new owner. International studies consistently show that properties with a solar system command a 3–8% higher market value.
